This one has wasted a lot of time. So far 10 validate errors for this one work unit and it has been sent out 2 more times! Something is not right.

Some errors on my Intel Core Duo iMac 269029992 and 269030200.
Both have the same error code.
Both have the same reason why the validator is unhappy
Validate error [6] (00000010)
- result file has entries that aren't numbers
I have quite a few iMacs (not to mention all my Linux hosts) getting a number of these too. The Devs are aware of this and are trying to work out why this is happening. Some validate errors are the result of hardware problems at the client end. There are too many of these on Linux and OS X to be just due to hardware problems.
Unfortunately, a lot of Dev time is going into the test project so that the new apps (OpenCL and the new GW app) will be ready when needed. Our little problem is probably on the back burner. I'm sure it wont be forgotten and I'm sure we'll all be informed when progress is ultimately made. We just need to be patient.
Come on, Gary! If you guys don't know what's causing this problem, then you don't know that it won't happen again. It is irresponsible to let this persist for several months just because somebody thinks it's a "little" problem. How can you be so confident that it's "little"? It continues to waste a lot of compute time, and as I just noted, if you don't find it, then over time, when this gremlin shows up again in other tasks/searches, you may discover that it is not so "little" after all.
You need to determine the cause so that you can be sure it never again appears. So far I don't believe that you have done so. After several months, wouldn't you agree that this is irresponsible?
Yes?

This is obviously due to a problem with the data being crunched. These occur occasionally but unfortunately can't be predicted. The Devs rely on user reports, like yours, thank you. There are previous reported cases in this very thread - like this one, for example. I try to notice such reports and send the details to the Devs.
Gary, those all look like data errors to me, not local problems at my end.
Thanks Richard. Your message was posted whilst I was replying to the other report. I've notified Bernd and Oliver but they mightn't see the message until the morning, I suspect :-).

All the above are Validate Errors from Gamma-ray pulsar search #1 v0.23. Only Gamma-ray pulsar search #1 v0.23 gave me these errors. Other work validates successfully.
Curiously, not all work from Gamma-ray pulsar search #1 v0.23 failed like this. A few work units did validate successfully.
