Reported in Problems and Bugs...
WU downloads are so slow that they can't complete before I run out of work. I get speeds of less than 1KBPS... .54KBPS now...
The problem has been getting worse this whole week and now it takes hours to download anything. I detached then reattached to project, get the master files downloaded at over 650KBPS... but the WU's (BRP4 GPU) go super slow.

I'm seeing a similar problem. The BRP4 downloads don't even start, and they're now waiting at least 6 hours for the next attempt.

my downloads went back to normal speed for the ones that where already started, but now i'm getting this msg:

My hosts are currently very slowing working down their BRP4 download backlog with reported transfer rates of about 10 to 20 Kbps--quite a bit slower than normal, but far faster than the 0.3 to 1.5 range of the previous 24 hours.
Perhaps they have fixed the initial problem, but are suspending award of fresh BRP4 work to avoid adding to congestion as the backlog clears?
On the other hand, they just recently make the Technical News thread on this topic sticky, which might hint it will be with us for a while.

sound like a plausible explanation... i'll just let it sit and see if it pulls anything else today.
For me, rush hour is over.

For me, rush hour is over. Getting up to 250 KBps download rate. Now my queue is empty.
The question is: When are new WUs be released?
[Edit]
Since now.

check again, i just started pulling down 2 WU's
RE: For me, rush hour is

Indeed. Shortly after you made that post, my hosts working down their backlog dropped from something over 50 Kbps to something more like the current 5 Kbps rate. I also note that the Einstein server status page currently shows two BRP4 work generators turned on, which had been off for many hours. FGRP1 generator still off.
The optimistic view is that the traffic jam of downloading work already assigned before the turn-off was almost done, and we now have entered the traffic jam caused by new assignments in response to requests, which we may hope will gradually clear if the current capacity still exceeds the current average demand.
With two hungry GTX 460s to feed, which eat nothing but BRP4, a quick bit of arithmetic suggests I need about 40 kbytes/sec of download just to break even, so I, personally, getting a total of about 20, am falling behind again.

Download rate is now between 1.5 and 3 kBps.
But, in my opinion, this is caused by these computers, that work down their queue now.
RE: Download rate is now

agreed. i'd say give it a couple of hours, should be back to "normal" speeds
