Thanks for:

2. for making the boinc window not resizeable while creating a busy, busy background with REALLY SMALL print. Being vision impaired, that requires me to use a magnifying glass to see anything.
3. making me start all over instead of saving my log in information and data file.
4. I especially like the instailation window that says "this action is going to destroy your data, AND; This action is NOT going to destroy your data.
I've resolved these issues by removing all files of BOINC's from my computer. let me know if you ever get these issues resolved. NEW! and Improved is not necessarily Better!

You're posting on the wrong forums about that. The BOINC developers do not read the Einstein project forums much. You'll have to post about it on the BOINC forums, and when you do, preferably state from which version you came and to which version you went.
New and improved may not always be better, but you can't stop progress. That same progress that has you running a Core 2Duo and an i7 CPU. Totally useless CPUs when you consider that you can surf the internet with a Pentium 4 - 2.80GHz as well. ;-)

as a legally blind person my self, id just like to say, progress shouldn't come at the expense of access.
seeing without seeing is something the blind learn to do, and seeing beyond vision can be a gift.

To install a new stable version you just stop BOINC (if it is running) and launch the installer. The new version is installed 'over the top' and any tasks in progress will be restarted when the new version of BOINC is started. You do not lose any tasks or data when BOINC is upgraded in this way. If you were trying to install the latest 'alpha test' version, it is possible to get problems but not usually with installation. What version were you trying to install and what did you find "super difficult"?
I've installed BOINC on lots of different platforms and I've never seen a BOINC Manager window which can't be resized or which contains "REALLY SMALL print". Were you in fact upgrading from a really old version from the days when BOINC Manager didn't have a "simple" view and an "advanced" view? Perhaps you are encountering the "simple" view for the first time and don't realise that there is a button for the "advanced" view down in the bottom right corner of the window. If that's the case then just switch to the advanced view as it will be much more like what you were used to.
I don't understand what you mean by this. By "log in information" do you mean your email address and password that you use to login to your account (with your browser) at a particular project? Why do you think BOINC should "remember" these? You can have your browser remember these if you want to as a convenience, particularly if you're the only person using your computer and you don't have a security issue with your account details.
The other possibility is that you are talking about having your computer 'attached to' (ie registered with) particular projects. This is quite a separate issue. Each computer can be attached to a number of projects and receives a unique HostID from each project. That registration information is stored in your BOINC data directory and is always reused whenever BOINC is upgraded. The only way that information can be lost is if the contents of the BOINC data directory are lost. I'm guessing that you may have deleted all the BOINC stuff before trying to install the new version. That would certainly make your computer lose its idea of what projects it was attached to. If this is the case, you can recover from this in a variety of possible ways. The simplest is to re-attach to the projects you wish to support and receive new (ie duplicate) HostIDs. You can then 'merge' the old ID with the new ID. You need to do this at the website for each project to which the computer was attached.
The bit that really puzzles me is the reference to "data file". What data file do you think BOINC should have saved for you? If you are rejoining the project after a considerable absence, the apps and data files that you had when you were last active are likely to be quite out-of-date anyway so it would be best to allow BOINC to download fresh copies from each project you wish to contribute to. With a freshly upgraded BOINC, this should happen automatically, unless you have set BOINC not to download new work. Load up the advanced view of BOINC and check all your settings in case you have 'new work' disabled.
I'm really struggling on this one. The BOINC installer preserves the vital data from previous versions. I don't recall ever seeing a message (from the installer) that says that your data will be destroyed. From memory, the newest version I've actually installed is around 6.10.58. I haven't actually used any 6.12.x or 6.13.x version so perhaps there's something different in these versions. It may depend on just how old your previous version was.
I guess it depends on whether or not you wish to contribute to any of the available projects. Having wiped the slate clean, you could reinstall BOINC and re-attach to your projects of choice and then merge the duplicate HostIDs at each project. If you select the advanced view in BOINC Manager, you will probably get something like what you have been used to seeing previously.
It's actually quite an interesting time to be involved with this particular project. There have been an amazing number of new and interesting pulsar discoveries both from the radio pulsar data from the Arecibo and Parkes radio telescopes and the gamma ray pulsar data from the Fermi-LAT satellite. There's no reason why this pattern of discoveries wont continue in the future. If you'd like to be part of it, I'm sure there would be many people willing to help you get going again.
