I was able to download all of the files that Einstein wanted when I did the project reset and was able to download some work units, but when the first of those finished, the same errors occured when it attempted to report the completed task.
Guess I'm going to shut off Einstein on this machine until 10-August (the "timewarp date") and see if things start working again...

the 3 listed as "in progress" are, in fact DONE but my machine can't seem to tell that to the server. SETI@HOME and MILKYWAY@HOME both work fine, but since my machine had it's brief time warp to the future, EINSTEIN@HOME can't "talk back".
Until that problem is fixed, I'm done with EINSTEIN and wil be throwing my computing muscle at SETI and MILKYWAY
Try a "Do network communications": BOINC Manager->Advanced view->Advanced->Do network communications. This will at least reset any large back-off that your machine may have.
If it isn't the back-off, it's something else that's changed. And then when August comes along, you still won't be able to report, I bet.
You can upload, you said? But just not report, right?
Upon report you get the "Failure when receiving data from the peer" message?
Downloading and uploading is a mere transfer of data between the servers and your computer, it's just moving data from drive to drive. Reporting however requires you to access the database and needs a more secure channel. You said you had "a chat with our network admin says the same, nothing that he's aware of.", well I will respectfully disagree.
The "Failure when receiving data from the peer" message means as much as this: Something, somewhere, has blocked specific HTTP access to the Einstein connection URL. If not on your computer, then somewhere higher up in the network, more specifically where it exits the internet and enters the building. Only blocking Einstein and not Seti or Milkyway will then give those errors.
So the question now becomes, how are you connected? Is this work or a school?
Do they use a proxy? There must be a firewall server somewhere, does it specifically block any or all of the following addresses?
Those are all the mirrors that we report to, if I am not mistaken. (Gary, Mike, correct?) So have them check those addresses.
Or what you can try to do is off-set your timezone on the computer, set it to the London UK timezone for instance, and see if reports can then get through. As you will then most probably use one of the German servers, not one of the US ones (.edu).
If it isn't the back-off, it's something else that's changed. And then when August comes along, you still won't be able to report, I bet.
You and I will bet differently then... My wager is that when my machine gets past the date of 10-Aug, everything will appear "normal" again...

correct, I think. Work unit h1_1433.90_S5R4__852_S5GC1HFa_1 is shown here as "ready to report". I presume that means it's been uploaded, but not reported.

Connection is at work. I can reach all of those sites thru firefox on the machine in question. Double checking with the netadmin, they are *NOT* blocked by the firewall.

Not going to happen.
Why don't I think it's a network problem but rather some sort of "time" problem? Have a look at http://einsteinathome.org/node/195707&nowrap=true#111138 earlier in this thread. I *do* get a response (and as near as I can tell from the debug data the correct response) from the server at one point in the dialog.
HTTP error: Failure when receiving data from the peer
What about HTTP error makes you think it's a time problem? Why don't you set your computer date to the 10th or 11th of August then?

Not going to happen.
Why not, what exactly do you stand to lose by trying this?
You can even suspend Seti and Milkyway, if that's worrying you.
An HTTP error shows that it's a network/internet blockage. The error itself is given by cURL:
Quote:
curl is a command line tool for transferring data with URL syntax, supporting DICT, FILE, FTP, FTPS, GOPHER, HTTP, HTTPS, IMAP, IMAPS, LDAP, LDAPS, POP3, POP3S, RTMP, RTSP, SCP, SFTP, SMTP, SMTPS, TELNET and TFTP. curl supports SSL certificates, HTTP POST, HTTP PUT, FTP uploading, HTTP form based upload, proxies, cookies, user+password authentication (Basic, Digest, NTLM, Negotiate, kerberos...), file transfer resume, proxy tunneling and a busload of other useful tricks.
Sorry if you can't believe it.

Connection is at work.
And they allow you a direct connection to the internet, without the requirement of a proxy? Very doubtful. But then again, since you say you can reach Seti and Milkyway, maybe not so doubtful.
You may need to set a proxy however. See this FAQ at WorldCommunityGrid that shows your exact error. Still think that "HTTP error: Failure when receiving data from the peer" is a special time error?

I don't know what you are seeing but this page

shows that every unit you have gotten since early February has been returned and is either pending validation or already gotten validated except one.
