I just added a GTX570 to my computer and while BOINC comes up and sees it, I can't get einstein to throw any projects at it?

I set my settings to use the thing but so far no go on it? Am I missing something here?

FWIW the card is being a major pain in my backside getting to work with my optoma projector too so maybe it's an install issue?

Thank you
Aaron

Only the number of tasks shown as 'To send' on the server staus page: i.e. zero at the time of writing.

For CUDA (GPU crunching), you need to be looking at ABP2 or BRP3. ABP2 is essentially finished - you might get the occasional resend, but nothing more. BRP3 is slowly gearing up for a full-scale run, but is still just in testing for the moment - again, no tasks generally available.

Oh, and on your Einstein@Home preferences page, you need to select:

Use NVIDIA GPU 'yes'
Arecibo Binary Pulsar Search (STSP) 'yes'
Binary Radio Pulsar Search 'yes'

(or just '(all applications)')

ahh yes I did forget my

ahh yes I did forget my nvidia setting on the prefs page. Lets hope it works here. Ill have a look over at boinc and see if there are any projects that are hard hitting on vid cards so I can try it out although Id rather use it here.

Thanks for the info.

Prime Grid http://www.primegrid.com/ can also use your Nvidia card for crunching until Einstein comes up to speed. There are several others too, Dnetc http://www.dnetc.net/ and Collatz http://boinc.thesonntags.com/collatz/ All of the ones listed, including Seti, can use any kind of gpu. There are projects that require a special kind of card, such as Milky Way that requires a card with double precision or Eisntein that requires an Nvidia gpu.

Thank you for the info everyone. I did find some of the other sites and got them to start feeding me data. Wow does this thing crunch fast, I cant wait for einstein to come online to see what I can do here with GPU stuff.

Yes a gpu can crunch MUCH faster than a cpu can, IF the data is set up to run within its parameters.
