I recently got a couple of the new Linux CUDA BRP WUs and all errored out. Reason: my 64-bit Debian Squeeze lacks 32-bit variant of libz.so.1 by default.
I guess I'm not the only one lacking it so it might be wise to statically link libz into application as 32-bit gets served also for 64-bit linux hosts. Specially so as previous BRP binaries (1.04 CPU only) did not depend on shared variant of libz.
@ astro-marwil : "At now I´m missing a tool to record the cpu usage in a log file"
Doesn't PT create a logfile ?
Thank you Grutte Pier!
As far as I found, PT (Process Tamer) has just an event based logfile. It logs the changes in priority level but not the cpu load.
So I´m still searching for a tool that logs for a given process the cpu load on a timer base to a file.
I have a GTX 480 and the load is only around 44%. Is that normal?
Thanks
Yes. If you are familiar with creating/ manipulating an app_info.xml file you can chnage the on the gpu app to 3 and then after a restart of BOIUNC you would be running 3 WUs at the same time and get much higher utilization. On my GTX480/ WinXP 32 bit I get about 88-89% usage and it takes about 1 hour 23 minutes for each set of 3 WUs to complete.
On one of my linux hosts::

On one of my linux hosts::
GPU: GT 240 (96 cores) : 5.7k sec
CPU: Core2Quad 8200 : 64.9k sec
so speedup is ca 11, and the theoretical max credit per day for BRP3-only workload on this one is ca 9.5k.

It works perfectly :-) 75' for 3 WUs.
I copied a app_info from the thread. I have a 64 bits comp, is it ok or it doesn't matter?
Thanks anyway.
