I also have a machine with only 64MB of RAM. Is there any particular reason that the RAM requirements are higher than this?

Hi John,
I'm sorry -- but our executable uses around 30 MB or more of memory, so we are requiring a minimum memory size of 100 MB, mostly so we don't kill people's machines! I need to double check our memory usage -- I may try and reduce the minimum required memory for future workunits that we create.

If it takes too much memory to run on a 64MB machine, so be it. Just checking since I believe that there is a default requirement of 128 MB. 96MB might be a better number than 100 as there are machines that have 96MB, and if it won't kill these, it might get you a few extra crunchers. The 64MB machine is the slowest of the ten that I have testing the various applications.

It probably will, but you should expect a run time of around 80H / WU. If I were you, I would probably run Predictor on that one.
Then you're really interested in a subject, there is no way to avoid it. You have to read the Manual.

It will run OK, on my HP Netserver PII 266 MHz with 128 Mgyte Memory. I've had it running, but with the current size of WU, and the short turnaroundtime, it didn't workout right, as I couldn't deliver within the timelimit.
"your computer doesn't have enough memory"
