That's an oldie that I thought had been fixed. When the master URL fetch fails it starts defering in the week range in like 3 fails. It does make some sense when you understand the conditions it normally occurs in but is still excessive. Normally the master fetch only happens after 10 scheduler fails, in this condition the client is already defering the maximum amount and needs a new max.

I'm getting the above messages when I'm trying to run BOINC 4.25 under XP. My proxy settings are ok. So what's wrong?

The project is unreachable for some reason. Do you have a firewall/proxy/router that could be blocking BOINC? There have been problems with personal firewalls not allowing BOINC out until reconfigured. BOINC uses port 80(http) for communications, but if you are using a proxy, you may have to configure BOINC to use it (broken in 4.19 and fixed in 4.25).

Well, this sounds odd but I downgraded from 4.25 -> 4.19 and got the BOINC running. I have used the same proxy settings both times and I don't have personal firewall.

Which proxy are you using?
