I loaded BOINC and Einstein@Home and it will not run. It says "Suspended-user active" in the "Status" column. Any suggestions?

I doubt this has anything specific to do with Vista. You probably have your preferences set not to work while the computer’s in use, so whenever you move the mouse or use the keyboard, you trigger a three-minute suspension of all BOINC’s activities. Most users have no problems from setting the work-while-in-use preference (under Your Account on the website) to “yes; you can always set BOINC to “snooze, or shut it down, while you’re doing something that requires maximum system responsiveness & CPU availability.

However, if you prefer to leave that preference set to “no, I suggest that while you’re using BOINC Manager you choose “Run always from the Activity menu: that way you can see what it’s doing much more easily. At the end of your session you can switch it back to “Run based on preferences so it will stay inactive while you’re doing other things.
