Went from XP to W 7 and it doesn't show under my Computer's description. Grid says there is no work. Also says I've suspended. I'm in, but in wrong.

Another site says I have W 7 . http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/hosts_user.php?userid=661352

How do I fix this mess?

You're managed to make two accounts, obviously one with a different email address:

http://einsteinathome.org/account/102224

http://einsteinathome.org/account/

and hence hosts with different id's:

http://einsteinathome.org/account/102224/computers

http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/hosts_user.php?userid=661352

You'll want to remove the Einstein project from your host, then add it again, this time using the old email address and password.

I may want to, but I read the FAQ for Einstein and it doesn't give even give a clue as to how to achieve this. My host has a "detach" button that is lightened to show it doesn't work. The only other one that might work is "reset," that tells me with a click that it deletes all files in this project.

Yesterday I tried merging and that didn't work.

Pack a lunch and plan to sit here all day with me till help arrives.

Should I do the "reset" thing or is there another place to resign? I used to have two hosts, both GR, but one ran away that seemed to be the correct one, but who knows, and it's probably very happy to have escaped...

Even a hacker would be befuddled with my accounts, and I fear that more tampering will give me 3 accounts instead of two.

Thanks..

Since you use the grid

Since you use the grid republic account manager, you will have to detach through there and reattach through there. Not through BOINC.

Detach and Reattach are the old descriptions for Adding and Removing Projects, DA thought people didn't understand what it ment so changed it, now we're got to remember to use both descriptions, it's the same with venues and locations.

The "detach" button in GR

The "detach" button in GR cannot be activated because it is lightened like it already is activated.

Only possible changes are under the "Advanced" heading at the top of the GBR page:

"Shut down connected client"

and further down:

"Attach to Project":

Seems to me that I should "attach the project" and then maybe it will let me detach it.

Or "Reset" and I have no idea what new problem will come up...

I think you are talking about the GridRepublic client, which is just a BOINC client with a GR skin. It's correct that the Detach button here is greyed out, since you used the account manager on the GridRepublic website to attach to the project. So you will have to go to the Gridrepublic web site, http://www.gridrepublic.org/, log in there, and then detach through there. Then sync that decision in the BOINC/GR client.

Now, I am not sure how you can have two Einstein accounts if you used the same GR account. You may want to check at the GR website if you have two accounts there as well -- aka log in with your other email address and password if applicable.
