See my team page:

The RAC of 16)Enmana just never changes while no new WU was returned from him for long. Any explanation?

p.s. I thought the RAC will be adjusted about per week even no calculation was done.

Why RAC doesn't drop even no new WU was returned for long?

I have noticed the same behavior. I believe that RAC is updated, or changed, when a new WU is turned in, otherwise it remains static. I went away for 10 days, and when I returned and restarted Einstein, my RAC was the same as it had been when I left, UNTIL my machine completed a WU and turned in the result, when my RAC dropped like a rock, to the level I had been expecting.

Someone more versed in BOINC may have a better explanation, but this is what I deduced from my experience. It should have no impact on team RAC, which I believe is updated whenever a member of that team turns in a completed WU.

There is a server-level program that can be run to go through and recalculate the RAC for all users on a weekly basis, but it slows the system down considerably and takes a long time to run. I believe all projects have given up on using it. When a result is returned and credit awarded, there is a much smaller program that recalculates just that user's RAC. This leaves the RAC "not decaying" if the user is not working.

The stats sites, such as BOINC Synergy, ignore the RAC that the projects include in the XML files, and recalculate it themselves, so it is correct in your signatures.
