Heat Index this afternoon in North East Kansas is currently 98F.

I have a straw hat but I think those British Pith Helmets would be good too.

I use a cloth hat here in North Carolina, it's a Mission brand one with a top that keeps the Sun from sunburning my head thru the hat. I've already had half a dozen MOHS surgeries up there. On lady running around my area has had her tops of her ears chopped off because she refused to wear a hat or sunscreen. It seems to happen to more fair skinned people who used to play in the Sun every day as a kid according to the Dr., and yes my parents used to send me outside and say be home when the street lights come on.

Using the heat index calculations...

The highest heat level index that I can recall from my experience was somewhere between  ~ 125॰-130॰F, and that was really HOT!
