It got down to freezing in middle USA this morning.
In Rockford, IL, it got as low as 24॰ F last night.
Here at the beach in North Carolina it's going down into the upper 40's tonight but will be back up into the mid 70's during the day by the end of the week and the upper 50's at night.
Are the temperatures seesawing in your area? Or is it getting cold and staying cold?
Tom M
Oh, they're seesawing alright. Today will be a high of 54॰F, going down to 36॰F overnight, and tomorrow a high of 38॰F. Yesterday was only 37॰F for a high.
Richard, I think I remember a severe storm biting the UK. Was this a result? And is this in the north of the country?
Yep. 100mph winds with low temperatures (-10 deg C here). Dramatic rescues at sea. There are still a few thousand people without electricity over a week later.
The nights are getting cooler

The nights are getting cooler (finally).
This week they are looking to all be in the lower or below the 70s (F).
