It is supposed to top 90F

It is supposed to top 90F today for the first time in several days so all my systems will be suspending during the mid-day to mid-evening.

Darn.  One of them made it back into the top 11 on the top 50 list.

Nope the coil is leaking EVERYWHERE and since it's still using R22 they will replace the whole thing, both units, a week from this coming Monday. One a/c system is running, the smaller one, so we are using a bunch of fans etc to try and keep the place bearable. It hit 84F the other day and it was 78F in the main area but 65F in the smaller area, when it hits the upper 80's this coming week it could be touch and go whether we stay all day or not. I'm trying not to crank the smaller unit down too far so it doesn't quit too, I'm already sleeping in there now and I think the wife will be this week.

They did it this past Monday the 16th and they only replaced one unit not both of them as they told me on the phone when they had me clear my calendar for two days. The good thing it's working great and It's now nice and cool in here.

Mikey, congrats on getting

Mikey, congrats on getting your A/C fixed.  I understand the frustrations of troublesome HVAC units.  In the past ten years I have had to replace the controller board for my main unit and for my secondary unit.  The heat pump for my main unit has been slowly dying for 3+ years.  Third-party warranty company is thus far refusing to replace it - it is cheaper for them to repair it than replace it.  Unfortunately, the terms of my warranty indicate that I am responsible for the cost of the refrigerant.  Because mine uses R-22, I have paid ~$1000 for freon this year alone.

We were lucky in that tropical storm Fred didn't affect us much.  About 2 inches of rain at our house.  Folks received up to 6 inches of rain 30 minutes east of here.  Unfortunately, our roofing contractor has had to delay our project for another month because of emergency work resulting from the last storm.  I completely understand - damaged roofs have to take precedent over our leaky one.

WOW you are having a run of problems aren't you? The systems here used R-22 but the coils had several leaks and that's expensive so that's what caused him to replace the system, the new system is the new stuff and the tech said after 10 years it too will need replacing, he said 'they just don't build them like they used to'.

As for the roof do they have a tarp over it or something to stop the water from coming in at least? Even some old shingles nailed over the existing one in the area of the leak would stop the ceiling from coming down on you.
