I am a bit surprised, why one of my fastest boxes gets more and more of those tiny WU's. Today again 25 8 Minute-jobs and only 7 regular WU's. Okay, for the remaining 12 hours I shut the box down and save some energy. Why isn't it possible to direct those mini WU's to slower host CPU's?

Been there, but didn't do that. I have a backup project that keeps my system(s) busy if I reach daily quota limit due to a long string of short WUs.

Patience. Your system will work its way out of the short WUs eventually.

Like many others, I would like E@H to bump up the daily quota, especially when this type of thing happens. They have their reasons, and I'm not privy to them.

:-(

Seti Classic Final Total: 11446 WU.

You've got a point,

You've got a point, Hermann.
I've already argued several BOINC forums that BOINC scheduler needs some elementar features since BOINC should provide work on a smarter mechanism and not based on simple queue.

For example, sending ResultsIDs from single WU to similar host - in term of speed, turn-around time (based on % on and running BOINC and size of the work buffer) etc. so they can back to server about the same time.

Shorter WUs can be generally send to slower machines, more demanding to more powerful machines, those that are need back soon to host with short turn-around time etc.

Well, I guess it's about priorities...and developing scheduler in this was might be considered as a low priority...(?)

But I also understand that having some machines diversity withing single WU can give extra validition value etc.
