Lately I've been seeing not just the usual occasional "marked as invalid" error, but half a dozen (or more) a day of tasks failing on "validate error".

All appear to be from the GPU

What is the significance of a "validate error", and is there anything I can do that might reduce their occurrence?

This old pinned thread at the top of this forum goes into more detail if you're interested.  The most likely reason is a heat or power or other hardware issue with your machine.

Check and thoroughly clean your computer internally, things like dirty or blocked filters or heat sinks, fans not rotating at full speed, etc., since excess heat may be the cause.  Power 'quality' is another possible cause.  How old is the PSU?  What is its 12V power rating?

If those things all check out, it may be a faulty component and the easiest way to check for that is to replace things like the PSU, RAM sticks, the GPU itself with known good components (one at a time) to see if the problem goes away.  If you're not into this sort of tinkering yourself, you may need the skills of a reputable technician.  I'm not seeing any problems with the tasks themselves so it seems very likely that the problem is somewhere in your machine.

Cheers,
Gary.
