Generally the problem with giving clear advice regarding the Intel driver is that the arrival of Win 10 changes things. It seems to work, but there are not many reports yet. It may be that the recent drivers for the older OS' also fixed whatever problem plagued them for over a year. But the last time I looked those were only for Haswell & Broadwell, but not for Ivy Bridge (my CPU). I hope we'll be able to give more clear advice soon, like "use a recent driver and be fine".
I confess I had forgotten about the WIndows 10 policy to mandate updates and the extra tool Microsoft provide to 'fix' this.
I am not interested in the hassle of downgrading my driver every couple of days just to fill up my cache, so I have downgraded the driver and used the tool to avoid automatic changes.
For what it's worth, my machine has happily crunched through a fairly large quantity of iGPU WUs on the new driver with 100% valid success.
I now need to give my attention to the AMD side of things.
I have a 4670k which is overclocked, but the iGPU is at standard speed. I had numerous problems with very little benefit when trying to overclock the iGPU.
Do you know what kind of temperatures the machine is running when it locks up?
Are you using the iGPU or the nVidia card as the primary display (I'm assuming you have extended the desktop and not cloned it).
Hi my CPU (3770k) is OC'd but the iGPU is at stock. I have a GTX 780Ti (not OC'd) as my main GPU and I fool the iGPU into an extended desktop state by plugging a VGA cable into my monitor at startup.
Im rock solid when not using the iGPU but when its in use my PC always locks up.
I didnt look at my temps for a long time as I hve been running this OC for years, but from memory its about 68C
Note that the iGPU adds about 10 - 20 W to the CPUs total power consumption, which increases temperatures. Sicne the stock 3770K has a TDP of 77 W, this can be a lot, percentage-wise. It could simply be that your CPU can't take your usual OC with the added heat from the iGPU. I'd watch the temperature, then retest with lowered CPU load to test if this works.
Hi so I just upgraded to an i7-6700k with HD 530 iGPU, Im on win 10 still, I returned 1 iGPU task but it looks to be flagged as invalid. https://einsteinathome.org/workunit/231047752
I've just got an i7-6700 machine with HD Graphics 530 and I'm trying to find working drivers.
The ones Win10 installs didn't work (tasks run but fail to validate). I've also tried 20.19.15.4279 which didn't work. Currently trying 20.19.15.4300. 1st task completed but waiting on wingman to see if it validates.
As with most OpenCL apps you need to dedicate a CPU thread otherwise they take forever to run.

I agree with Gary.

Just an update from me, if I use my iGPU on Win 10, after about 20 mins the whole machine locks up

Do you have the CPU or iGPU overclocked at all?

20.19.15.4300 drivers don't seem to work either. Waiting on Intel to release another version.
