Just to avoid any confusion, the upload server problems reported in the previous news item were resolved some time ago. The project has run normally since January, 16th.

I have multiple machines which are continually being backed off. This has been happening for days. On rare occasions one packet gets through, but I just checked all of my machines and they still _all_ have being asked to back off 3-5+ hours. A goodly number of these packets will probably miss their due dates now because they have been stuck for days.

Aren't you being rather melodramatic? :-). Have you really checked due dates???
The first task on any of your machines to expire will do so on April 7. Where is this "goodly number"?? - I don't see more than a couple in over a week's time. A backoff of a couple of hours is rather insignificant by comparison.
If you're really bothered, why don't you go to the transfers tab in BOINC Manager and click on any stuck upload. Hit the retry button and all transfers on that host will be completed. However, there's really no need to do that. BOINC will take care of it automatically.
Cheers,
Gary.
