When I decided to use my new AMD Dual core 4800+ processor based machine on Einstein@Home it is reporting that the processor is in fact "AuthenticAMD AMD Hammer Family processor - Model Unknown" and is refusing to use both of the cores. So I am only running Einstein@Home on one core. Is there any way for me to overcome this problem. I have tried playing about with my user preferences (for max number of CPUS to use in multi CPU machines etc) but this does not make any difference.
The processor is an AMD Athlon x2 64 Dual-Core 4800+ (E6 Version) Toledo 90nm L2 Cache 2x1Mb

Looks more like an OS problem. Does your OS detect the CPU and both cores right?
You are right - It is an O/S

You are right - It is an O/S problem. It looks like I need to install O/S updates.

In fact I needed to update the BIOS on my motherboard. Once I had done this Windows suddenly recognised my processor as a dual core processor. Now to get that average credit rating up....
