Today I started up E@H on a new computer. It installed OK, but said I did not have enough memory & deferred communications for 24 hours. I shut dowm immediately, installed another memory module, & restarted. E@H just continued with its 24 hour deferrment when restarted, apparently without re-examining the memory available.
Is there a simple way for me to "Undefer" communications, or is it best to just sit & wait.
They also serve who only sit & wait.

"undeferring" communications?
)
There is a simple way for the GUI:
go the tab "Projects", point with the mouse over E@H, right click and select "Update".
That should do it.
If it is on your Linux one, somebody else will need to help you as I don't have any experience with Linux.

As said above, you can use Update in the GUI, and it is also doable from the command line version. The point is to try to avoid the "floofing" of servers with requests, so, after each failure the time delay is increased. Forcing an update will do the trick (assuming you get through) and all will be normal.

It was the win app running under wine under Linux, but your advice worked perfectly & immediately.

I barely know what I am doing here & had not encountered the command line versions before. After rummaging around the web site, I see command line versions for several operating systems, but not for win. Am I correct that there is no win command line version?

After installing BOINC there is an executable in the boinc directory somewhere called boinc_cli.exe, it's the windows command line version ;).
