Hello,

Is anyone else having a problem with uploading their finished work units? I have four finished work units waiting to be uploaded but for some reason the server is not able to accept them. They have been like this for about 2-3 days now so I am just wondering if anyone has any information on on this issue? Until this issue is resolved I have set my client to suspend accepting any new work units.

T-I-A for any information you can provide

Chris

Hmm? Check internet

Hmm? Check internet connection. Firewall? Your computer lists two tasks: "in progress" (not uploaded and reported so far). One task was successfully reported this morning, another yesterday afternoon (UTC times). Actually, the Boinc manager uploads completed tasks immediately (no more result files in the upload file transfer list) and will also report them immediately, sometimes maximum half an hour later. Reporting of uploaded tasks can be enforced by updating the project in the project list. Did you restrict internet connection to specific days or times (BOINC configuration)? Can be overridden with "Network access: always" in the BOINC client. I'm not aware of any recent upload server issues.

[EDIT:] There are a lot of configuration options in BOINC which can hinder uploads:

  • limited upload rate (bytes per second)
  • limited upload (MB per day)
  • restricted to specific days and times...
  • connection to be confirmed

You may have accidently played around with one of these configurations? These are set in your account's preferences on einstein@home website, or alternatively by local configuration in your BOINC manager (overriding web configured preferences). You may want to check these.

I had the problem the other day but now it's resolved itself for me and my tasks are being up and downloaded with no problems. I do still the occasional task I have to click to retry the transfer but it usually gets sent pretty quickly when I do.
