Permission Denied error when host tries to upload this task output file.

Situation nominal for GW since the project came back up.

Not a biggie yet (there's still time to deadline), just a rude surprise finale for my first ABPS WU at this point! ;-D

Trouble Uploading ABPS Output File

Bernd has just commented on the EAH_Mod list that it might be a "permissions" problem on the upload directory so I would think that you'll get some action fairly promptly as soon as someone (with access) gets out of bed and checks their messages :-).

Cheers,
Gary.

As I mentioned earlier in

As I mentioned earlier in this thread, Bernd initially wondered if it might simply be a permissions problem on the server upload directory. If that had well and truly been the case it should have been fixed by now.

The most recent comment relating (somewhat) to this problem is here and you can see Bernd mentions the problem that the first tranche of 628 tasks were inadvertently sent out with a wrong URL for the upload handler, the very program your clients are having trouble communicating with. Some back-end jiggery pokery is needed to collect the work and obviously there is some problem with that at the moment.

The good thing is that your BOINC clients are quite prepared for these sorts of failures and will keep retrying for as long as it takes. They will eventually succeed and no losses are likely. Unless you really know what you are doing you shouldn't interfere but rather leave BOINC alone to handle the problem itself. The worst thing you could do is to try to force the issue. Unnecessary actions like resetting, updating, reinstalling, rebooting or anything else you might dream up are bound to fail at best and probably do damage at worst.

Just be patient and let the project staff sort it out.

Cheers,
Gary.

I've now been informed that

I've now been informed that the problem is resolved and that uploads have "been coming in in a constant stream without any problems". Initially there may have been a "can't parse config file (transient)" message, but that was only very temporary.

If you still have results stuck in upload, try selecting the result on the transfers tab and hit "retry transfer" and the upload should complete.

Cheers,
Gary.
