In the list of your computer, is the total RAM still as MiB listed. Now is the time to switch it over to GiB, because it is easy to read.

einstein runs their own server software, decoupled from the baseline BOINC server code. They’ve basically modified it to their needs. I’m sure they could make this change if they wanted.

Oh yes I agree but if they put it in the Server side for the next upgrade then everyone would have it not just Einstein. It's probably in ALOT of places in the code so changing in in just one place won't cut it. I don't know if it's still part of the leftover 32bit stuff or not though, if so it should be gone shortly whern they go to a pure 64bit version. And no I don't know when that will happen but they've been talking about it for awhile now.

even if boinc changes it, it will have no effect on einstein directly since they don't pull the latest boinc changes. they would still have to do it manually.
and changing how it's displayed on the website is a minor change. everything on the backend with boinc can still use it in MB.

Yes that's true but I don't think any project just applies updates without doing something to them to make them their own, in fact most projects don't do many updates, some do none, until they install a brand new version that is several, or more, versions newer than the one they are using.
