Sadly I don't have the time

Sadly I don't have the time to play games. Else I would perhaps have tried those games.

If you're like me - it'll be

If you're like me - it'll be when your little ones get a little bit older that you'll find yourself sucked into games. :)

I've kept sackbots alive by not letting them fall into lava, and beat Maleficent in Kingdom hearts before either of my children did. It took a whole morning of dying first - but still... and the giant caterpillars in Rayman were a bit hair raising when they leapt at the screen, but nowadays, you can show me a zombie and I don't run away :)

When I was introduced to Civilization though  (I think it was civilisation but don't ask me what number) by my daughter and her then-boyfriend - my peaceful people in their simple, happy community quietly minding their own business got wiped out *wounded blink* really quite fast.

Please wait here. Further instructions could pile up at any time. Thank you.

I s'pose the games could be

I s'pose the games could be an inadvertent zombie apocalypse ( or as I say : abagapox ) preparation.

Now Civ 6 has epic graphics detail ( though that's configurable ) and animations particularly, like when all sorts of things happen but especially the stabby-stabbies. So a really good video card is pretty much a prerequisite .... otherwise .... yyyyoooouuu wwwiiilll bbbeee wwwwaaaiiitttiiiinnnngggg aaaa lllloooonnnnggg tttttiiiimmmmeee ffffoooorrrr tttthhhhiiiiinnnnggggssss tttooo hhhhaaappppeeeennn .... thenallofasuddenyoumissitdrats.

Cheers, Mike.

( edit ) Oh and you get voice-overs by Sean Bean .... who doesn't get his head chopped off. :-)

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

... and my other CPU is a Ryzen 5950X :-) Blaise Pascal

Then still it will probably

Then still it will probably be my wife that will be playing more as she is home a lot more. But probably there will be games.

I can hardly wait for that time to come.

Civ 1 to 3, I thought were a logical progression, I tried 4 but didn't get into it compounded by the fact neither of sons had donated me a hand-me-down GPU recently. Even though they still come round and eat me out of house and home.

By the time I got a capable GPU ver 5 was out. Did a free limited time trial and decided it wasn't for me.

Gone back to my all time favourite, Elite.

Been there since the time of the BBC computer.

I don't game at all, no time

I don't game at all, no time for it these days and in the past I was too slow to pick up the next move and kept dieing. These days I just crunch 24/7 and rebuild pc's when Win10 fills up my hard drives with their stuff and I can't crunch the Projects I want too. I've looked and can't seem to find the culprit but a 120GB SSD should NOT be full of Win10 stuff to the point that there is only 100MB FREE!!! Nope nothing special on there just Win10, Boinc, the gpu software, software to monitor the gpu and a VNC type program so I can sit at my desk and easily log into each pc to make sure it's still crunching.

a 120GB SSD is not what

a 120GB SSD is not what Microsoft intends for a computer, take for example Microsoft Visual Studio. If you install that on a different partition it still requires up to 60GB on the system drive. It basically means I can't install it because I have a 120GB SSD and windows + VS does not fit.

I'd have to use my slow HD that is bigger as system drive in order to be able to run that program. So simply put, I won't be building any apps in Xamarin just yet. Anyways, time for a new machine next week, then VS will fit on the C drive.

Ya don't scare me, I done my shoulder in, no idea how, but the quack* has me on anti-inflammatory tablets (twice a day) and some cream.

Problem 1, to put cream on requires undressing.

Undressing and dressing causes acute pain, so do you or don't you. Makes me grumpy.

anti-inflammatory cause drowsiness so guess who falls asleep in the afternoon until painkiller wears off and I'm suddenly awake that makes me up grumpy,

Can't cook properly, so relying on microwave meals. The choices seem to be not very good or/and small OR cost a fortune, and still not as good as I can cook. That also makes me grumpy.

I'm just in the mood to have a shouting match with someone.

*Quack knows that's how I refer to her, She's a family friend who did her intern time at same time as brother-in-law, on my sisters ward.
