I'm more dubious about its claim to be science to be honest, or rather an experiment that advanced science. There were a lot of those, around about that time - or so it seems to me - that were dubious...
Assuming they weren't traumatised by the experience, for this one, it definitely paid to be the male of the species.
I personally would have just deduced the proof.
