Although I whole heartedly aggree with Mike's sentiments, I think I might need to emigrate to another country.

"Spank the wombat!!" never heard that before :) and not sure I want to understand what it means.

I hope Akos will do the same good job for Linux-Users as he did for all Windows-Users.

That would be nice, even a generic Unix version so I can test Solaris.

We are very happy to have hired Akos as a consultant for Einstein@Home. He's currently visiting the AEI and right now sitting next to me over the code.

Hi! So, thanks to Bruce

Hi!

So, thanks to Bruce and Bernd at first. They invited me to the Albert Einstein Institute for a visit. I feel honoured because of it.

I would like to say that I did the whole optimizations just for fun, so I was surprised when i realized that i got some money from AEI. So, thanks again.

This visit was wonderful and interesting. I'm wondering still.

Akos, it's great to hear from

Akos, it's great to hear from you. I'm thrilled that you have been offered a consulting position with E@H, your hard work and dedication have certainly not gone unnoticed. Must have been a blast to visit the AEI, way too go!!

Akos, I´m happy to read about

Akos, I´m happy to read about the invitation from AEI to you.

Please inform us, what you have done. Are there any news for us? Did you get the sourcecode? Are there any optimized versions in work?

Bernd works on newer and newer versions. He had some problems with the different compilers when he tried to put some assembly codes into the sourcecode, but he solved this. Wurgl sent to him an optimised FPU code, so we tried out a mixed SSE/FPU code with Wurgl's code but it was only 10% faster. ( I didn't hope 10% from this variation. )

Meantime: 5 fewer mults and 2 fewer adds. Not much, but ...

Tried to convert FPU-Code to SSE2, gives 'about' the same value, but would never ever validate. Seems to be slower too :-(
