Does anyone know if a cruncher can run Win 10 Task Manager, even though "Suspend Tasks while Computer is in use" is set?

Would like to see CPU usage etc on Task Manager graph  .

Is there any other way to see computer's performance besides Task Manager?

I like HWiNFO.  It displays a considerable number of CPU and GPU parameters and generates a few basic statistics over an averaging interval which you can reset to begin anew any time you want.

I doubt it, as it seems a background task as are dozens of others.  However, I don't use the BOINC setting you mention, so don't have direct experience.

Is that setting important to you?

Not really  . Just thought

Not really  . Just thought things  might be faster to separate BOINC from others , but  don't really

use computer too much for other things.  Still don't know difference between Home , Work  preferences.

Each of your machines, for those who have more than one, is assigned to one of four possible locations (also sometimes called venues).  Three of the possible four are consistently called home, work, and school, while the fourth is a bit of a muddle in naming, sometimes called generic, sometimes just getting a dash.

The names for the locations are just labels, and could as well be red, green, blue, and yellow.  They allow people with lots of computers a convenient way to modify preferences for one batch to be different from another batch.

Lots of trouble shows up here in the user forums in the form of location confusion.  A user will confidently report that the preference they have set is being ignored when the actual problem is that they adjusted the preference for a different location than the one to which their machine is currently assigned.

You can adjust which location is assigned to your machine by going to the details page for that machine, and adjusting the scroll box near the bottom.

You can adjust preferences by visiting your account web page and going to the preferences section, most likely selecting either the Computing or the Project tab.  Scrolling the Preference Set box to match the location of the machine you seek to adjust is crucial, as otherwise you may be speaking to the wind.

I tested that now with Task Manager performance tab selected and had also Afterburner monitoring window open. They can be running, no problem. Crunching pauses only if I use mouse or keyb. Plugging a flash drive in USB port doesn't have an effect either.
