Falcon Heavy static firing

Falcon Heavy static firing pushed out from Friday to Saturday.  Rumors of an anomaly with a hold-down clamp, and/or some ground support equipment issue in the final stage of propellant top off.

Falcon Heavy static firing

Falcon Heavy static firing next opportunity pushed out from Saturday to Monday.  Beginning of the window is 4:00 p.m. EST (local time in Florida), 2100 UTC.

I think it is a reasonable inference that they have found something to work on.  The vehicle went horizontal for a while after the Wet Dress Rehearsal, but was back vertical last I saw.

Today's Dragon recovery

Today's Dragon recovery reported as successful through splash down.  No video available (as usual).  Most recent report had the recovery ships on the way to pick up.

Thanks for that ! It is now my new screensaver. I call it the Falcon 27 ... I'm getting goosebumps. We are getting back to the grunt level of the Apollo days. :-)

Not quite ..... it's the Falcon 28 actually.

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

Falcon Heavy static firing

Falcon Heavy static firing next opportunity pushed out from Monday to  Tuesday.  Beginning of the window is once again 4:00 p.m. EST (local time in Florida), 2100 UTC.

At least one passer-by observed venting on Sunday.  Perhaps not a full Wet Dress Rehearsal, but something more than just the beast waiting on the pad for people to agree that it and the Ground Support Equipment are both ready.

USLaunchReport claims that was a fueling test.

Cheers, Mike.

You would think with Crew Dragon coming soon someone might want to see the splash.

Falcon Heavy Static Firing

Falcon Heavy Static Firing attempt cancelled for today.  Next opportunity is Friday, 3:00 EST, 20:00 UTC.

The big push may not mean a bigger problem or fixit project.  There is some degree of conflict from other activity at the Cape.  But not doing it today surely implies some further work or study.

Going into the upper 30s

Going into the upper 30s tonight with colder temps tomorrow night.  This might factor into the "wait" for Friday.
