Since I can't really compete with the 7-9 GPU systems I started wondering about the Top 50 listing that includes single GPU systems.

We have also had a couple 3 gpu-less systems join the Top 50.

Less than a week ago I started up a single GPU rtx 3080 ti system (with e@h CPU tasks).

This discussion can include systems that are running a mix of CPU e@h and GPU e@h tasks.  Any operating system that e@h supports.

This thread started off in the Gpu Users private area.

One thing that is amazing is

One thing that is amazing is we have a single GPU system which is not running any CPU tasks but is pumping out 3.3+M rac.

Looks like it is running "All-Sky Gravitational Wave search on O3 v1.15 (GW-cuda)" to do that.  If I am not confused that is a version that runs nearly 100% on the GPU rather than pausing twice for 100% CPU processing.

The system is currently holding down 8th place.

It looks like we have 17 discrete systems running either NO gpus or just one.  I have included a couple of systems that are also displaying their iGpu's as well as their single discrete gpus on the assumption that iGpu's won't "matter".

no. 1.15 is the same as the 1.08 app. it does CPU processing at two stages.

the 1.14 app is the GPU processing one. but it still has stages like the 1.08/1.15 app. there is a clear separation of the recalc portion, even if it's still running on the GPU. the run behavior is different and does not progress at the same speed as the normal GPU stage.

a well tuned 4090 should be capable of ~5M ppd on O3AS when paired with a fast CPU

Well the 4090 was looking

Well the 4090 was looking like it was smoking already.

Well unless some other 4090 system comes up with more production I suspect this will be the single GPU race headliner.

The race for second place is ON!

:)

After the boinc pentathlon

After the boinc pentathlon finishes in less than 2 days time, I may fire up a single old Radeon VII with a system power budget of 300W or less. My initial study indicates about 3M PPD but only ran for a few hours.  I would want to see how well the task staggering will work over longer duration. I may run either 5 or 6 tasks per gpu.

Maybe this system can take a second place, lol.

Rats. I thought I was going

Rats. I thought I was going to be able to grab 2nd place with a 1.9M system.

I wonder what kind of GPU architecture it is running? I don't remember a 4 legged GCN...

It has a powerful 4-legged HBMs legs to support the small and mighty F64 jockey riding on it.
See AMD official slide and according to AMD, it is "SUPERCHARGED" (with steroid)...
