i knew, out there are trillions of benchmarks, but the most of them are big&slow or synthetic/tuned to be brilliant to a special system :-C

last year i´ve done a simple java benchmark, to messure the equivalent power of a pc for my programs, which i build for a company, to sort out old pcs :/ it is based (compiled) on java 1.5 (version 5) and u can see in some results, that java 1.6 (version 6) is 50% faster that before.

it is completely randomized, like every use case of a application is completely different and demands on your work. it shows the power of your computer system within a minute and gives you an fast impression of your cpu. u can decide whether to use it or put it in a museum. there is no meaning like "mips/whetstone/drystone" or something like this, just a look what a cpu it could be.

{ website in german }

i would be glad, if you have exotic machines or very fast one and if u send me an email with your specs for the table, it would be nice.

simple (java) benchmark

Tried it, looks very singlethreaded...

What value are you supposed to read to compare to that table? Max or avg or..?

it is singlethreaded :/ cause

it is singlethreaded :/ cause i dont have the computer to tune it to multiprocessor, but u can imagine that the result is usable for every logical cpu. i puted my email on the bottom of the page, its tetsuomeister(at)googlemail.com (just for spicy pork and so ^^)

i want the fair max (or simple avg) on faktor 4 and 1, the vm, the os and the cpu - maybe specials like overclocked (air/liquid/fridge) - like viewable in the table :D

Not sure if MAX is

Message 62682 in response to message 62681

Not sure if MAX is representative, i saw a jump up to 26000+ on factor1 when repeating the benchmark several times, AVG was 14000 something.
