What does Graphics Setting: (FPS) control? What happens if you change it?

Though presumably it does

Though presumably it does take some processing power to drive the screensaver? (so higher FPS would slow down processing somewhat).

I've considered that the

I've considered that the BOINC specified FPS ought be interpreted by the screensaver application as a maximum rate. This in turn yields a minimum time b/w buffer swaps. So that would cap the impact of a screensaver.

My rewrite of the E@H screensaver build framework has a current max setting of 100 FPS ( this can be changed ), by control of GLFW callback intervals. I reckon that if the swaps are regular then 30 FPS looks fine.

Of course if the screensaver is disabled, this is moot.

Cheers, Mike.

I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...

I don't use the screensaver, so its setting doesn't matter.

Always a good idea to set

Always a good idea to set your screensaver to "blank" after a couple minutes to keep from wasting processor.

I rarely even take a peak at it since way back in the Seti Classic days.

Quite simply, you're running the drivers with the sleeping monitor bug:
