I am probably being very stupid here, but on the Screensaver info website it says that the graphics can be displayed as a separate window and not as the screensaver.
I have looked around and can't find any more info about how to do this and can't see anything obvious in Boinc.
I have probably overlooked something very simple, but was just wondering if someone could tell me how to do it, so i can have a play around with the graphics etc.
Thanks

I tried your suggestion, but am unable to follow your instructions. How can I communicate with the BOINC running task if using the computer causes the task to suspend operation? Should I have first changed my preferences to continue DC operation while using the computer for other tasks?
Many thanks for your patience.

Go to your preferences, edit
)
Go to your preferences, edit them, change "Suspend work while computer is in use?" from yes to no and save changes using the "Update preferences" button at the bottom of the page.
Then make BOINC aware of the changes: BOINC Manager->Advanced view->Projects tab->Select Einstein->Click Update.
If that didn't fix your problem, you're probably using local preferences which override the same web preferences. In that case open BOINC Manager->Advanced view->Tools->Computing preferences->Processor usage tab, check "While computer is in use" and click OK. This will take immediately.
