When I signed up I chose NO when it asked if I wanted the visual screensaver. Now I would like to have it and don't know how to get it. Can somebody please tell me how to add the screensaver.
I think it has been installed, just not selected. Open the screensaver selection dialog of your OS, there should be a screensaver named "BOINC" or "BOINC screensaver". Just select that.
When running the Arecibo task, the screensaver has a white disk on the celestial sphere, separate from the orange targeting icon. Its meaning does not seem to be documented. Is it the current zenith position of Arecibo?

Yes it is Aricebo, and yes it is not documented as such. Sorry. The dev team is/has-been rather busy.
Aside: For what it's worth, I've recently returned to working on my own variant of screen saver code ( watch this space ). If I can adequately get my head around the topic I intend to assist like-minded others, and perhaps also further streamline the construction of user initiated designs.
Cheers, Mike.
I have made this letter longer than usual because I lack the time to make it shorter ...
... and my other CPU is a Ryzen 5950X :-) Blaise Pascal
