running einstein@home on Freebad 5.4 (help please)

    Hello,

    I have my win2k box running boinc.
    I have just installed the latest freebsd boinc port and am trying to attache to the einstein project.

    I try :

    ./boinc-client -attach_project http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu 2a8da67fcd50824610f4da0cfedf726f

    but I get:

    BOINC failed to log in to http://einstein.phys.uwm.edu/.
    Please check your account key and try again.

    The key I am using is the cross platform ID key that is displayed in my account page on einstein@home.

    Am I missing some software at all.
    I have not got any projects currently running on freebsd - einstein is my first attempt.

    Is there a list of compatible project that work with FreeBSD somewhere and perhaps instructions on how to get them going?

              Did you check the file permissions. The "albert" application must be executable for the user running BOINC.

                  Ive checked compat4x - it is installed. Reinstalled it anyway. Have to admit I dont know how to get compat4x actually started tho -

                  Permissions where not correct on albert app. Corrected.

                    Can you try to execute albert by hand? I mean, go to the directory where it lives, and do ./albert_0.40_i386-unknown-freebsd. It should execute without error message and return to the command line immediately.

                    Also check under which system user you are running the client, and that all files in data directory are owned by this user.

                        Yup - compat4x libraries are not started. Make sure you have

                        compat4x_enable="YES"

                        in /etc/rc.conf, and then start them with rc script

                        /usr/local/etc/rc.d/000.compat4x.sh start

                        should work.
