The 'resuming computation' thing has happened several times ... 'no "finished" file' implies some problem?? In effect I am wasting time repeatedly doing nothing!! I'm tempted to scrub the whole thing & (maybe) start again ... some advice on how to do this would really be appreciated ... or how to 'reset' the project?

Cheers ... Neil Marsh.

Repeated calculations/none sent?

Just ignore this message. It will normally pick up where it left off with no action from you.

John, your reply isn't really helpful! The message on screen simply says that no data was transmitted, AND the same calculation is then repeated, AGAIN!!
The grey ghosts behind the scenes carefully remain incommunicado ... I haven't found a way to contact them. The only way out appears to be to completely wipe the program, & start afresh?!

This refers to the 'no finished file' message, it crops up almost randomly so just ignore it. The other messages are related to the core client recovering from the 'no finished file' state. It should be starting where it left off and not doing the whole workunit over, but just the last few calculations (or where ever it stopped).

Sorry my first post was incomplete. It's one of those annoyances that you get tired of after awhile.

The only time I've seen this

The only time I've seen this problem on my computer is when I push it hard with other apps and boinc is running in the background. Might be a good thing to suspend boinc when running CPU-intensive apps.
