BOINC 7.12.1 appeared to install OK on my Windows 7 computer, but when it launched it got popup error as shown below. I had stopped running BOINC before the install. My IObit Advanced System Care had a popup saying the uninstall was incomplete, leaving a Registry entry and several "useless" files. I then ran IObit Uninstaller which did the uninstall and included a cleanup of Registry and Files. Then I re-ran the install executable, and it installed OK and launched OK, but I had to signin and re-register my project. BOINC then ran benchmarks, downloaded new tasks, and started running the task OK. All my previous account stats were still there (perhaps on the BOINC server - I don't know). Anyway it's now OK.
POPUP ERROR WAS:

Application Name : boincmgr.exe
Application Version: 7.12.1.0
Application Timestamp: 5b47be89
Fault Module Name: StackHash_fd22

I suggest you review the BBCODE HELP item, which you can probably spot below the input box for a reply on this forum, among other places. That will advise you on available formatting and other options supported for forum input on the site.
Thanks for the reply. I did

Thanks for the reply. I did find the BBCODE HELP at the bottem of this reply. However it requires an image to have a URL which my image does not have. It lives as a .PNG image in the Picture Library on my computer. I used the PAINT utility to save it from a screen print. The PAINT Save As function does not have a http url option.
If you know of another way, let me know.
BTW, The BBCODE HELP does not show up on the Original Post screen, only on the Reply screen. However there is an icon which looks to me like a picture of a tree, which I did look at, but it asks for a URL. Obviously I'm missing something.
Actually, you are correctly

Actually, you are correctly seeing what you get.
Yes, there are web sites which will accept a picture that you supply as part of your post, store it on their resources, and supply it from their resources when others view your post. This it not one of those web sites.
The other common system (not only here) is to allow you to provide a URL pointing to a place where a picture is available somewhere on the Internet. Your job is to put your image some place accessible. Possibly your ISP is one of those which still supplies a facility to each user (they usually call it web page support) that would permit this on resource you obtain with your Internet Service. My own ISP, Comcast, stopped doing that a while ago. You could also rent your own web page space from one of the many services supporting that. Failing either of those, most people establish an account with one or another of the many operations which store and provide Internet access to user-supplied images.
I used Photobucket for that purpose for many years, but they changed policy roughly a year ago in a way which makes them a very bad choice for this purpose. Imgur seems currently to be used by many people posting in places I frequent. You can make your own choice of such a service. Many of them provide free service at a basic level of support which is likely to far more than adequate to your immediate need.
What you can't do is require of Einstein that they store and provide Internet access to images you specify.

I updated all 9 of mine to 7.12.1 with no problems on Win 7 and 10
Did you do a complete clean re-install and try again?
Years ago I made a website for friends and still use that to make a URL for pictures on websites like this one and just use the img bbcode (servimg.com )
Thanks for your reply. Yes I

Thanks for your reply.
Yes I did a complete un-install after it failed. Then on the second try it worked OK.
I have never had to do an un-install before this when I upgraded to a newer version, so my post was to let others know of this problem that I had, and suggest they do an un-install of the old version (or the new version that just failed) if they encountered a problem, suspecting that there might be something different about this version. Or maybe it's just my computer, who knows?
Thanks for the info about your website for images. I will give it a try.
I guess this isn't Facebook,

I guess this isn't Facebook, as much as I don't want to mention them.
Never really thought about the storage requirements. Don't want to have BOINC resort to advertisements.
I think that I will try the image website mentioned in Magic's reply post.
Thanks again.
