Hello All,
I have noted over the past few days that I can set the Suspend while in use flag to YES and then 24 hours or so later it is set back to NO.
This is rather frustating as I want it to SUSPEND while the computer is in use.
I have ensured all of my preferences are set to be the same. That is SUPSEND while in use. All Boinc work preferences are set to SUSPEND while in use.

Boinc Version: 6.6.36

Is there are reason why Einstein should change this setting?

Perhaps it's not Einstein@home but one of your many other projects? :-)

Please correct me, if I am

Please correct me, if I am wrong. I just describe what seems to happen and what I saw recently:

If you change settings in one project, then these settings are grabbed by your boinc client next time when it talks to the project. And it *SEEMS* that these settings are distributed by your boinc client to other projects your machine is attached to during the next contact. So it *SEEMS* that you just need to change it on one project.

A few days ago I did some minor change in the SETI@Home settings and yesterday evening I saw these changes here at E@H without manually touching the settings here.

Yes, that's normal. Changes to the Global Preferences (general computation preferences) will be used on all computers attached under your account to the venue those preferences changed in. Since BOINC's inception, that's always been that way, it's not something that came up only yesterday.

If you want to specialize some computers, put them on another venue. If you want to specialize one computer, use BOINC's local preferences (Advanced view->advanced->preferences. These will override all the same preferences from the web-site).

To check which project's preferences are being used, exit and restart BOINC, then look in the messages. At the end of the projects you're attached to list, you'll see:

Date and time Project Name General prefs: from Some Project Name (last modified Some date and time)

e.g.
16-Jun-09 09:11:45 World Community Grid General prefs: from World Community Grid (last modified 25-Oct-2008 16:58:41)

This is a very good question. On ALL of my projects I have a home configuration and ALL of them are set to suspend while in use. The BOINC Venue is so my default is HOME and it is set to Suspend while in use. I even have my Boinc->Advanced->Preferences set the same, all set to Suspend while in use.
I do not know when this started as I have only been noting it over the past 7 days or so.

THere is a bug in the server side code where if the server clock is messed up it can cause this kind of issue. QCN did some sort of lifetime test and set the clock way up there and people are still trying to recover from that ...

Still, the first step is as suggested, find out which project is being used to set the preferences ...
