Anyone else had problems ?

AMD 4400 now freezes somewhat randomly when BOINC manager window is open, guessing it's either the Nvidia driver for my GTX 460 OR the new Einstein code for the BRPS WU ?

P.S. Will try some more fiddling after work Wed. evening, then abort all work units.

I have had that problem on my GTX570 here and ended up having to tweak the speeds down a hair to settle it out. Yours may not be the same problem but it's something to look at possibly. Everything will be running fine, temperatures are looking good and it'll lockup for no reason, reset back to slow speed, or if you open a page up or start some task it'll lock and reset.

After I turned the speeds down a bit it stopped doing that.

PC appears fairly

PC appears fairly dead...

Will try and transfer files from SSD to one of the other PC's.

That probably won't work, you MUST return the units from he same pc that they were sent to or the Server will think you are cheating and you will not get any credits for them. It is probably best to just ignore them if the pc is truly dead, the units will expire and get sent out to someone else, it happens all the time.

That can work, you just can't merge them with already existing tasks.

@dunx: If you want to transfer the tasks to a machine that already runs BOINC, stop BOINC ("Shut down connected client") and rename the existing BOINC data directory. Then copy the data directory from the defunct PC to the same path and restart BOINC. Since you copied the host ID too, mikey's concern doesn't take.

If all tasks are uploaded and reported, you can revert the process and finish the original tasks.

Thanks wil try that after

Thanks wil try that after work on Friday...

BRPS WU are already out of time, but the PSU and graphics cards are O.K., so once I manage to pull the SSD out I may be able to transfer the rest.

And start saving for another PC ;-)

P.S. Last time that PC had problems I swapped the SSD out and ended up with a chimera PC... LOL
