I am crunching alongside atleast one P4 on each wu,
they often boost my credit take,
my 3200 xp is usually the norm credit given.
(actually a 2500 barton on 400 fsb)
Silly rabbit! Tricks are for AMD. :)

P4's are all over the place

Meckano,
Since Intel dominates the processor market with a 75-80% share, compared to little more than 15% for AMD, that's not really a surprise, is it.
Now that the weather has cooled here, I've cranked my air-cooled 2600 Barton another notch to 202*12.5=2525MHz. Amazing little beasts, they are.

haha, I forgot to write... Speed wise. :)
Some take twice the time, some 10 percent longer, others are actually faster.
and whether it's a 2.8 or 3.0 doesn't seem to mean a thing.
Oh yeah, air cooled too here. I'm so glad I got the 2500 at a bargain which turned out to be the best candidate for a quick fsb change to 3200 land.
My TB-B 2400 on the other hand would have been better as a 2200 for the same 166 to 333 swap. This one I can change this and that, but it does not warm boot without locking up.

Meckano, It seems Newegg
)
Meckano,
It seems Newegg has recently stopped carrying my XP-M 2600, though they stilll have it at the 2400 speed. These are unique among Athlons these days because the multipliers are still unlocked. Since they're meant for laptops, they'll tolerate voltage better, and produce less heat.
eBay has this one and more like it.

wow, still 65$ USD?
I paid 125$ canadian a couple(few?) years ago for the 2500+, non MP.
It's been a 3200 since almost day 1.
ps: I use my cpu to heat! :)

yeah, my 2500 errrrr 3200 non 64 is doing them in @ 5:52.
I don't see the need, here, for a 64 yet, which is good cause I've been planning what and how I update the computer components.
- I've been lucky too. ATI 9200 is not all I thought it was.
Plus, my next jump involves new, hehe:
motherboard
video card (so I can try that new: crunch on vid. card thing)
probably memory
cpu fan
cpu
probably opt for a full blowout sound card. audigy or something
need a new cd while I'm at it, last one pfzzzzzt'ed
oh, and I'll go for 2 sata HDs as well while I'm at it.

RE: video card (so I can
)
Meckano,
The only vidcard that is (almost, wait another 2-3 months, or more, it's ATI) crunch-friendly is the new 1300 series Radeon. I posted an excerpt from an article I'd read here that you may find informative, as well as the addy of the original article.
Michael
BTW - that Athlon I sent the link for isn't a multi, the M stands for mobile, and because of the extremely huge voltage-heat breaks, and the fact that it's multiplier-unlocked, it's wildly O/C-able. Mine is running +25% while crunching Einstein almost 24/7, and currently AsusProbe indicates CPU temp @49C, and turning out E@H WUs in 5 hr 5 min.
