Yes, it is true. Well, at least in my case. Upgraded to Ubuntu 20.10 a week or so ago. Everything including the starsphere screensaver was functioning normally. Then yesterday an update to Ubuntu 20.10 was applied and as you might guess it my starsphere no longer shows when I click on the Show Graphics Button.

This is getting a bit tired every time an OS software updates and the starsphere no longer functions.

I can get BOINC Manager to load and get work units and crunch those units, still no starsphere.

What is a guy suppose to do?

Help much appreciated.

Regards,

john

Turn the screensaver off and you will do more crunching! Everything on a pc goes thru the cpu and what goes on the monitor goes thru the gpu as well, that means all those pretty pictures you like seeing are using valuable crunching time.

Run one screen saver on one machine so you get the eye candy you want????

If I remember right, the Linux version of the cpu app I used to run on Seti@Home didn't have a screen saver at all.  Sigh.

The screen savers are really nice to look at but since they are CPU-only, some non-windows apps (android :) don't support them :)
