Topic 197677

I am not sure if this topic has been discussed in the past.

I recently re-entered the BOINC world and immediately got to work on the Einstein@Home project. But I have an old account under the same name from 4 years ago attached to a computer that no longer exists. I do not know how I can get into this old account, if I can at all.

I was wondering if the credits can be combined with my current computer. But if nothing can be done with it, I would like to have it deleted.

The old account was last used in 2010. I had an old Dell computer when using it.

Old Account

Accounts can't be merged nor deleted, sorry.

If you remember the login info for the old account you could use that instead of your new account. To make the switch open Boinc manager and in the advanced view and on the "Projects" tab click on Einstein@home and then on "No new tasks", when all tasks are done do the same but this time click on "Update" instead of "No new tasks". After the scheduler contact is completed and all tasks are gone click on "Remove" and then go to the tools menu and choose to add a project, use your old account info to add the project again.

Don't forget to log out of this site and the log back in with the old info.

If you don't remember the old email and password and the old computer is gone then there isn't anything to do but accept the loss and continue with you new account. If the old computer still exists then there might be a chance to recover if the Boinc installation is still there.
