Hi!

I installed Einstein@home about a year or more ago on another computer, that I'm not using anymore. Once upon a time, the BOINC client stopped running there, and I could not get the reason why it stopped. Anyway, I was simply too lazy and did not try to solve that problem anymore.

Since it's Christmas, I got a brand new machine, that I just reinstalled with Windows 7 and all the stuff I need. While doing so, I also wanted to setup Einstein@home again, but the problem I had with the "old" machine still exists: my client reveices no work. I looked up the FAQ about this problem, but all the things that are mentioned there don't seem to apply to my problems here.

What information would you guys need to help me? What might I be doing wrong?

Any help would be appreciated.

Best regards,
Dennis

Hello Michael! While

Hello Michael!

While searching intensively through the preferences, I found, that my settings were adjusted not to receive any work at all. I suppose, this is due to the fact, that I somewhen in the past limited my computer to only work on gamma ray pulsar searches. Since now, there is a "Gamma-ray pulsar search #2", which seems to be the successor of something, that ran before, there was no more work assigned to my clients, since a possible "Gamma-ray pulsar search #1" does not exist anymore since some point of time in the past.

So after activating all the projects, my machine receives work and is already running like hell ;-)

Thanks a lot!

Make sure you also have "If

Make sure you also have "If no work for selected applications is available, accept work from other applications?" checked. That will ensure you always receive some work when projects change or are temporarily out of work.
