Not downloading extra work

I occasionally need to download extra workunits before I leave town and take my wireless connection with me.

Boinc (version 5.10.20) correctly shows preferences I updated (connect every 4 days), network usage is based on preferences, but no extra workunits are downloaded when I update the project.

One thing I've noticed which looks wrong is the following:

Quote:
While BOINC running, % of time work is allowed 0.0519 %

I did test some date calculations recently and messed around with my system date and regional settings quite a bit (had to edit statistics_einstein.phys.uwm.edu.xml to get my graphs back to normal).

If that is the cause, is there any way I can fix it?

I guess you could edit this info in the client_state.xml file, but resetting the project via the GUI is probably safer.

"% of time work is allowed" is a BOINC-wide value, it's not kept per project. I doubt resetting the project would change anything.

Yes, I tried that last night and it didn't change anything unfortunately.

How can I get a new computer ID?

Maybe we can do without creating a new host entry.

This is a snippet from one of my hosts' client_state.xml files:

0.999904
-1.000000
0.999943
0.998008
1192783889.052057

(I'm not sure about the -1 entry..., but I guess if you :

1) make sure boinc is stopped
2) edit the numbers after , , and to some number just below 1.0 as in the example above,
2) restart boinc

it might work again.

Good luck. If this doesn't help, you can, I guess, detach the host from the project and then re-attach in order to get fresh statistics.
