Please help! I cannot get any new work.

Here is the error message I receive:

Quote:
2007-04-23 13:23:25 [Einstein@Home] Message from server: To get more Einstein@Home work, finish current work, stop BOINC, remove app_info.xml file, and restart.

I did exact that - it downloaded version 4.16, which is much slower than 4.27. So I reinstalled BOINC 5.8.17 and also reinstalled 4.27. I reset the project - no go. Same problem.

What can I do to get 4.27 running again?

According to the list of applications 4.16 is the correct version for the current science run.

Nothing. I assume 4.27 was a beta version or a special one running S5R1 results.

Einstein changed over to the S5R2 results, which are a lot slower on all platforms. So if you want to have work, run with the application given out by Einstein. See the S5R2 thread for more information.

It's not usually helpful to post the same question in multiple threads.

Thanks for the try, but 4.27

Thanks for the try, but 4.27 was NOT a Beta release and was running perfectly well since August last year (see my stats in the signature): Bernd Machenschalk, Forum moderator: MacOS G5 App 4.27 available.

Something else must have gone wrong. All other projects still run perfectly well.

You may not have any problem at all. My MacBook ran S5R1 units in under 3 hours. My first S5R2 unit (currently running) is projected to take 25.9 hours. The S5R2 app is not optimized as yet and will run slower than the S5R1 app until they work the bugs out and optimize the code. We just have to live with it until then.

4.27 was an unofficial

4.27 was an unofficial version for the s5r1 application (faster all sky pulsar search). S5R2 uses a completely different app (hierarchical all sky pulsar search). Both were versioned from 4.0, as was the app from the first part of s4. This has resulted in unintended confusion among some users. the 4.27 app you have is no longer valid, and you need to reove it to get the 4.16 app.
