Howdy Einstein Brains,

I have an issue with my Linux Ubuntu computer running Einstein@home. I am able to start the BOINC and get a screensaver to run. However, none of the keyboard commands work. Also no information is shown within the screensaver window such as units, account and so on. This issue appeared after installing the latest Ubuntu update. I have Gamma-Ray searches x 3. I've tried all three work units and there is no difference. What am I missing?

You may need to revert to x1

You may need to revert to x1 Gamma-Ray search as your Linux machines only have 6GB or 8GB of memory with no co-processors (discreet GPU), in either case it depends on which computer you're running.  Try that and see if it works then.  If not, let us know.

.....[EDIT].....

FYI, Ubuntu 23.04 IS a beta release, which means that it is not fully developed yet as a Long Term Release (LTS).

By 1x I assume you mean

By 1x I assume you mean processing only one unit not 3. Einstein@home was working just fine with processing gravity waves. When it finished processing those units it downloaded the Gamma-ray Pulsar search units and no more keyboard commands or user info. I tried suspending then cancelling all but one work unit and that made no difference,

With you canceling all but one work unit, did you also reboot?  If you didn't try rebooting, do so.

If you did try rebooting with no difference, then make a USB stick with the 'former' Linux Ubuntu on it (version 22.04 LTS) and try BOINC again.  If that does work, then your computer may either not have enough memory &/or processing power to run the newer software, or the beta version is not yet workable with your computer.

Question:  Is your computer a laptop?  I think it may be by the naming of AMD A6-6310 APU CPU.
