I've been getting the dreaded "too many connections" error off and on today again.

New Trouble Brewing?

Yep, I had one of those, too. But that was in the early afternoon (CET), maybe 8 or 9 hours ago. Since than, everything looked okay to me.

The server status page hasn't

The server status page hasn't been updated anymore since around midnight UTC...
A sign of more trouble or of someone paying attention to it?

Since early yesterday, I've only been able to connect intermittently. That begs a question, though. What happens if work unit due dates come up at the same time as a server outage? Will the deadlines get extended, or do we just lose those credits?

If your results are submitted shortly after the outage, chances are good they’ll be validated, even if past deadline. WUs don’t instantly “expire on their deadline; late results just become eligible for replacement or will be ignored if a quorum of two is already available for validation. It’s like the old saying about hiking in bear country: it doesn’t matter whether or not you can run faster than a bear, as long as you’re faster than the others in your party … here the bear is the validator, and the others in the group are your ‘quorum partners’.

Hi, this time, the eror

Hi,

this time, the eror looks strange for me...
My older systems with xeon cpus (900Mhz) and PIII are able to report crunched WUs, but they get no new work...
Message from server:
Message from server: Server can't open database
Project is down

or alternativly :-)

Scheduler request failed: HTTP internal server error

My newer systems with AMD/Intel X2 or C2D got new work...

Am I the only one with this behavior?

Is there an explanation for that or a fix?

WUs for the old ones will end on monday. Hope that i don't have to eliminate the old ones because they are crunching to low :-)

Thanks in advance for our answers

Similar behaviour here for

Message 60676 in response to message 60675

Similar behaviour here for me. Some machines can report and get work, others can't. (One of the ones that can still get work is my old Dell Poweredge P-II 333 dualie.)

But, what's really strange, is that some of the ones that still show as "Ready to report" and can't connect, show on my computer stats page as having everything completed. In some of these cases, I've even had my credit validated.

Same for me, but you can

Same for me,

but you can report your result...

You have to disable "get new work" before update.

Sometimes you have to update 2 -3 times before connection works.

But That's not really a solution...
