I just saw this in Tech News, posted 18 Feb 2011 18:13:25 UTC by Bernd:

A new series of CUDA Apps for Windows and Linux has been released (version 1.07). These should fix the CPU / GPU validation issues.

As for the experimental Linux App that requires the 270 beta driver, this requires an update of the scheduler. I plan to do this on Monday.

BM

Anyone using the anonymous platform mechanism to run multiple BRP3 CUDA tasks on their GPUs should probably download the new app file(s) and update their app_info.xml file accordingly.

All of your computers appear to be running the stock app, which means that a) you don't have an app_info.xml file and b) the project has automatically sent you the new 1.07 app.

Only those who are using an app_info.xml file to run multiple tasks per GPU (or for any other reason) will need to update manually.

Two of Dunx's hosts do (now) show Anonymous platform use, and recently completed tasks do show extended runtimes, that suggests two tasks might be running at once,

Yep, after I posted that I read in the other thread that Dunx was up and running using the app_info.xml that you posted. I owe you thanks as well. I built mine by taking the relevant bits from client_state.xml, but I checked it against yours to be certain I had everything I needed (and nothing that I didn't need). Nice work!

BTW, my GTS 450 host doesn't show any anonymous platform WUs yet because it hasn't asked for work since I added the app_info.xml file. However, I was able to use it to crunch a batch of previously-downloaded WUs two at a time and there was a significant improvement.

Problem... both my GTX 460's

Problem... both my GTX 460's are busy processing 4 WU's, it would seem...

BUT when I use GPU-Z one is using zero memory and the other the correct amount for two WU's.

So are they working in SLI mode somehow ? And how can I stop them if it is true ?

Help and advice needed please.

dunx

P.S. Claggy, could you suggest a and style fix ?PLEASE

You can try disabling SLI in

You can try disabling SLI in the Nvidia Control panel, then restart Boinc,

What happens if you set the Count value to 1?, does each app work on correct GPU then?

Each result i looked at said:

[14:17:50][4352][INFO ] Using CUDA device #0 "GeForce GTX 460" (336 CUDA cores / 544.32 GFLOPS)

never even a mention of CUDA device #1

You could try the 266.58 drivers, my GTX460 reports (336 CUDA cores / 1075.20 GFLOPS)

Suspect problem with app and it's not taking any notice of what device Boinc allocates to it, and just starts on device 0,
do both GPU's work correctly with other projects Cuda apps?
