Manned mission to Mars in 2031 (or maybe in 2019)

The year 31 plan is aggressively too long plan yet possibly year 19 is also tough plan to accomplish.

Remember ISS building began in 97 but today they are still building it and there are noticeable technical malfunctions are beginning to happen with it.

Anyways I'll sign the petition.

Hi! I'm not at all

Hi!

I'm not at all convinced that manned spaceflight to Mars should be a priority. We already see that the planned return to the Moon is heavily cutting into the budgets of other less spectacular, but scientifically significant missions like LISA. I think a manned Mars mission as early as 2019 is either unrealistic or financially irresponsible at best.

Unlike the Apollo mission, the psychological effect of such a mission could even be detrimental. I really fear that the images of men walking around on Mars might somehow enter the global sub-conscience as kind of a glimpse of a spare planet we have in our solar system once we have used up this one. Let robots and rovers go there and do useful science first.

For robot supporters there

For robot supporters there are really big advantage robots at least do not require water, food and other life support systems despite their mini nuclear power plant and solar cell.

But since science and civilization progressing sooner or later humans supposed to walk on Mars. And according to todays technological level very probably humans should do it. The moon walk was not clear scientific project it was in big account political project too which worked as great motivation for succeeding.

There is one chance what if this petition might get signed by 5 million people maybe then 50 million people around the world?! It is not likely chance but not completely impossible chance either. Then these NASA, ESA, RSA, JAXA, CNSA agencies should not ignore that magnitude of opinion.

I have to agree with Bikeman

I have to agree with Bikeman in that a mission to mars should not be a top priority but for different reasons. IMHO NASA (The Principle) realized from past projects it has to get its act together and do some far reaching long term planning. There will also have to be the political will to fund these long term term plans. In the scheme of things what is the rush... I believe there should at some time be a manned mission to MARS but let the experience of project management determine when we should go without the interference of politics

After a week this few people are signing unbelievable and it is worldwide result.

You know there is one weird phenomenon if Stephen Hawking or someone nobel prize winner start this petition there will be at least 1000 people per day would sign this. It is funny. :D

In uncivilized world it is impossible but now world is getting more civilized so it is possible to talk like this. Well if the talk is for civilizational progress. one example is ISS.
