A new MacOS X Intel App is available from our Beta Test Page.

The only new feature of this App (compared to the now official 4.42) is the updated BOINC library which contains a few bug fixes. This App should work with the latest BOINC development clients.

Happy testing!

MacOS X Intel S5R3 App 4.42 available for Beta Test

Great, just installed the 4.42.
6.1 Core Client downloaded, will wait for the 4.33 WUs to finish - this will take a day, or two - and then try it with the new Core Client.

The trouble is the critical

The trouble is the critical point is the very last step, so you don't know if it really worked before you finished and uploaded a task. Possibly better to make a backup of the BOINC Data when you're 95% done or so.

Here are two w/ 6.1.10

No issues. Waiting to validate.

BTW, it seems @ 500secs quicker w/ this build than the latest for -doze.
I have two identical T7200 platforms, first w/ x32 XP and the other w/ 10.5.2.
Both using Boinc 6.1.x builds.

Nice work!
Hope this is helpful.

Your host seems to need about 2000 sec less per WU compared to the pervious MacOS/Intel app for comparable WUs, so depending on the "length" of the WU the speedup should be up to ca. 10% (for the shorter WUs).

I'm too chicken to use BOINC

I'm too chicken to use BOINC 6.1, but App 4.42 works fine with BOINC 5.10.45. One done entirely with 4.42 and validated.

That's consistent with my own tests.

Finally the old WUs are done.

Finally the old WUs are done. No problems with 4.42 and the 6.1 core client.
The first two are uploaded and pending - for some unknown reasons my finished WUs of the past two days didn't even get wingman yet.
And about 1000-2000 seconds faster here too.
