A new MacOS X Intel App is available from our Beta Test Page.

It uses latest 'science code' which in particular fixes a 'sorting' problem that lead to validation errors with the 4.10 App. Looks a little slower, though, but the fix is worth it. It should pick up tasks of 4.10 from the checkpoint and lead to correctly validating results, even if the task has been began withe the 4.10 App.

Just finished the first WU

Just finished the first WU with 4.22. No problems encountered. The Speed seems similar to 4.10 which is ok;-) The result is now pending:

I should definitely build a new PPC App from current code. Some recent changes in BOINC prevented me from doing so, and also the fact that the Apps I made from current code ran slightly slower than the first S5R3 Apps.

I hope that I can get a new PPC App out of the door this week, but I wouldn't expect it to be noticeably faster than the current one. I intend to publish a "power App" for a limited range of machines (something like G5 w. MacOS >= 10.4) once I got the AltiVec code working for the current code (which it isn't yet).

Awesome. I have a nice new machine that can take advantage of that.

I'm a bit behind the curve,

I'm a bit behind the curve, but I finally switched my 3 Macs from 4.10 to 4.22. 4.10 had a good run. In the past I had quite a few tasks get "stuck". With 4.10 I never had a task get stuck. So good job there.

4.10 went a long time without a validation error. Then I just saw 2 validation errors so I figured I better switch apps. R.I.P. app 4.10.

I just decided to switch to

I just decided to switch to 4.22 yesterday. One task finished, one underway (>71% complete). So far, no problems with 4.22.
